Gutted...my M.P Mark Lazarowicz(Edinburgh North&Leith) voted no-and we're supposed to be the politically forward nation re climate change??!! I'm off now to go and rant at him in an email...
If you're going to do this again (inlining a table webpage like this), please get in touch because I can make it more useful to you -- and have the links that go directly to the motion text, with the vote of the particular MP at the top, like this example.
how nice of you Julian - I hope your offer gets taken up!

Its very dissapointing as a Labour voter to see that the majority of no's are from Labour MP's including mine. But I am not sure what else to expect in the run up to a general election, the government wants to show a united front but this issue is bigger than party politics and should have been a free vote

I note with distain that GEOFFREY CLINTON-BROWN (Con. Cotswolds) did not vote! Perhaps he was, yet again, out of the country supporting some...whatever, instead of giving his undivided attention to his constituents, his employers, and how they wish to be represented!!! If this is the way that David Cameron wishes to control/command his 'troops' - it doesn't bode well for the General Election.

The Tatton constituency MP George Osborne did not appear to vote on this crucial bill . WHY.
George Osborne the Shadow Chancellor did not appear to vote on this crucial bill. WHY?
Ramona Kauth
If they were Labour and they abstained does that mean they were rebelling?
Gareth
Just shows you Labour talk about the environment and most of them veto this bill which would be better for the environment even their climate change minister voted against. They are in the pockets of the big industry who are unwilling to recognise that environmental change is drastically needed!
Andy
So much of this is party politics more than the issue. All of the opposition voted for, except for one independant (Robert Wareing, Liverpool, West Derby). 27 Labour voted for (against the government), all Lab ministers voted against the amendment.
And the ones who abstained presumably either didnt agree with their party or couldn't be bothered.
DH
My local MP - Barry Gardiner did not vote...disappointing!

Could you tell me who the 4 MPs who didn't vote or couldn't be found, are and then I can ask them what happened and why. Politely , of course!
marta ainley
can you post the names of the MPs who didn't vote so that we can ask them why they didn't?
Keith Hill [Streatham] appears to have been moved off the list.? I understand he voted no.?.
LesC
From what I can gather my MP Mike Hancock did;nt vote I want to know why?
Peter
My MP Bob Blizzard didn't vote. Perhaps he was too busy writing that letter to me to explain why he didn't agree with the amendment. Well, at least I got a letter - that's great!
Kate
He received a number of emails from me as well, as he questioned whether I was a genuine constituent. I believe as a Labour whip he doesn't vote, but advises others how to vote (someone correct me if I have this wrong). Interestingly, he said he was going to speak to Alan Simpson (Lab) about it - someone I have real respect for.... Alan voted Aye, but Bob stuck to party line. I too received the letter and would be interested to find out if it was a standard one given to all Labour MPs to send out.
Simon
My MP Peter Byers didn't vote on it at all, waste of time emailing MPs who are standing down I guess
Simon
Sorry - Stephen Byers (Lab North Tyneside), my mind was on other things

Can someone please tell my why Ed Milliband, Secretary of State, Department of Energy and Climate Change has voted NO?!! Whats going on?
Julieanne
To follow up on what Johnny Patrridge said, have people noticed that Nick Clegg, Vince Cable, and Chris Huhne also did not vote? And the Lib Dems claim to champion tougher regulation that would mean the end of dirty coal fired power stations like the new proposed Kingsnorth station...
Interestingly in my constituency, Andrew Smith (Lab) Oxford East, actually voted for the amendment. The Greens are doing well here in Oxford and I think he must be running scared, because he usually always follows the party line.

unfortunately the Shadow Chancellor George Osborne does not appear to have voted on this important matter. Why ?

Siobhain McDonagh Mitcham & Morden voted no and so I will follow up to ask why...

My MP Lindsay Hoyle voted no, and what a surprise it's Labour and what I find more surprising is that most of the North West MP's said no! Very interesting indeed!
Johnny Partridge
My MP, Jeremy Browne (Lib Dem, Taunton) also did not vote. Every other Lib Dem MP voted with their party, aye, and I count 50 Lib Dem votes - I recounted 3 times. I have just checked on Wikipedia and the Lib Dems have 63 MP's. Therefore the Lib Dems lost us the vote, NOT Labour surprisingly despite that letter. As this is a Conservative target marginal seat, where every vote counts, I will ask my MP why he did not vote, I am very disappointed. Maybe shows the importance of the Lib Dems in a hung parliament?
Donna S
I've also been looking for Jeremy Browne - and see he's a no show. Pretty rubbish since I emailed him ahead of the vote too. I'll follow up with him too Johnny.

Thank goodness this expensive and burdensome piece of legislation has been killed off for now. The sooner we switch to nuclear the better.
1an
switch to nuclear in order to reduce emissions ? or do you just like nuclear ?
mhayworth
Switch to nuclear? Terrorists won't need to bother with airplanes anymore if we have Nuclear energy plants dotting the country.
Thomas Winwood
I would like to point out you're nine times more likely to choke on your own vomit than you are to die in a terrorist attack. This alarmism is misplaced here - nuclear is by far a safer way of generating energy until either renewable sources or nuclear fusion plants become a realistic option.
(Okay, that last one might just be the SimCity nerd in me talking.)
Risch
i take it you're being ironic?!

My MP, for Staffordshire Moorlands - Charlotte Atkins - didn't bother to vote. No surprises there then.
Mine (Stratford-upon-Avon) didn't bother to vote either. Great.
Dave Newbury
As usual, John Greenway (Con, Ryedale) did not bother to vote.
I can't say I am disappointed as with his voting record it is only to be expected.
Still, as he is not standing next time, maybe we will get some representation after the election.
Gen
Nor did mine - Diane Abbott (Labour, Hackney)!!
Anna
That's very disappointing, given that Diane Abbort wrote a CiF a while back complaining that the climate movement was too white and middle class... This would have been an ideal opportunity for her to act effectively and publicly as part of it.
Edward Byers
My labour MP voted AYE!!! Whether that was my influence I'll never know but well done all those that emailed - so close!
